Advocate Nasir Miah stood for Rasraj while public prosecutor S M Yousuf Miah argued for the state.

Earlier on 8 November, a bail petition of Rasraj, 30, son of Jagannath Das, a resident of Harinbed village of Haripur union, was rejected.

On 30 October, some unruly people demolished 15 Hindu temples and vandalised over 100 houses in the upazila following a Facebook post that allegedly hurt the religious sentiment of the Muslim community.

Rasraj was detained after a Facebook post posted from a profile bearing his name triggered the attack.
