Order on writ seeking further hospitalisation of Khaleda Zia Thursday

Dhaka: The High Court will deliver its order on Thursday on a writ petition filed seeking its directive on the authorities concerned to hospitalise BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia again for her better treatment.
An HC bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil fixed the date on Tuesday after hearing the petition, reports the UNB.
Advocate AJ Mohammad Ali stood for Khaleda while Additional Attorney General Murad Reza represented the state.
On November 11, BNP chief’s lawyer Barrister Nawshad Jamir filed the writ petition with the High Court seeking its directive on the authorities concerned to hospitalise BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia again for her better treatment.
According to the writ petition, Khaleda needs to be taken to a specialised hospital for better treatment as she has been suffering from chronic diseases.
On October 6, Khaleda Zia was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) for her better treatment in compliance to a court order.
On November 8, Khaleda was discharged from the BSMMU upon approval from the medical board formed for her treatment and produced before a makeshift court at old Central Jail in Niko graft case.
On February 8 last, a special court here sentenced Khaleda to five years’ rigorous imprisonment in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
