Seven killed in Barguna road crash

Barguna: At least seven people were killed and three others injured when a bus rammed a human hauler at Manikjhuri in Amtoli upazila on Thursday.
Three of the deceased were identified as Salma Akhter, 35, an assistant teacher of Tarikata Government Primary School, Shanu Hawladar, 40, and Chan Mia, 55, of the upazila, reports the UNB.
Nurul Islam Badal, officer-in-charge of Amtoli Police Station, said the accident took place around 11 am when a Barguna-bound bus of ‘Allalh Bharasha Paribahan’ from Kuakata hit a human hauler coming from opposite direction, leaving six passengers of the human hauler dead on the spot and four others injured.
Later, the injured were taken to a local hospital where another victim succumbed to his injuries, said the OC.
